About Aunty Amy
I am a fully qualified British nanny from Wales, UK, with 20 years of experience. My passion for child development started at quite a young age, as I have a natural talent with young children and I find them such a joy to be around. I knew then that I wanted to work with children.

I went on to complete NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education with the City & Guilds. After obtaining my qualifications, I worked at 2 creches over the course of 5 years, working with babies and children, aged from birth to 12 years, often taking on a strong leadership role within the creche. Afterwards, I took on a nannying role with a family for 1 year, before deciding to move to The Netherlands to pursue my career in 2000.

When I arrived in The Netherlands, I worked for a Dutch family in Amstelveen for 2 years. I decided to stay in Amstelveen and continued to work there for the next 3 years for various families within the expat community.

An exciting nannying opportunity abroad was offered to me and I decided to take it, in order to broaden my horizons, as well as my career. This led to me having the pleasure of living and working in Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Switzerland, before returning to my adopted home city of Amsterdam.

Upon my return, I set up a successful childminding business, taking care of children aged 0-6 years, which I ran for 6 years. I gave up the business to pursue a nannying opportunity abroad once more and then returned to The Netherlands to work as a live-in nanny with a family in Bloemendaal for 5 years.
Running my own business was an amazing, challenging and enjoyable experience, from which I have such dear memories. I remain in close contact with the families I worked with over those years. It is for this reason that I have decided to reopen my childcare business. Now that I am a mother myself, I see this as a great chance to combine caring for my own child with my passion for caring for children.

Aside from my childcare qualifications and a wealth of experience, I am also a fully qualified First Aider and I regularly top up with additional training, to ensure that I am up to date.
